Movie: Malcolm X
This film exposes the life and tribulations of the civil rights activist Malcolm X. The movie, based on Alex Haley’s autobiography on Malcolm X focuses on his beginnings in adulthood as a hustler and pimp, to ultimately, his evolution as a civil rights activist for African Americans. This film also places emphasis on his childhood; his time in jail; his relationship with Elijah Muhammad; his preaching’s and controversial statements; the pilgrimage to Mecca; and all the other life-altering events that transformed his life. This is truly a must-see as it is one of the most brilliant and inspiring films ever made.
